FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 25, 2025) — As a part of its commitment to fostering leadership and advancement within the organization, United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) announces the promotions of Dierrica Smith, CFRE, to director of corporate relations and Shanna Snider to senior director of community investment.
"Dierrica and Shanna’s leadership and dedication have been instrumental to our mission," said Adam D. Powell, UWTC president and CEO. "Their expertise will strengthen our corporate partnerships and programmatic focus, creating lasting impact in Tarrant County."
Dierrica Smith, CFRE

As director of corporate relations, Smith will lead efforts to enhance corporate fundraising and relationship management to support UWTC programs and community efforts. Before her promotion, Smith served as corporate relations manager.
Smith began her professional career with United Way in 2019 as director of resource development at North Texas Area United Way, where she built relationships with major donors to increase annual giving. She brings nearly a decade of leadership and strategic relationship management experience, holding a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with an emphasis in public relations and advertising from Midwestern State University. She earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2024, the only globally recognized and accredited certification for fundraising professionals.
“I am excited to be serving in the role as director of corporate relations and look forward to continuing to develop relationships with industry leaders in Tarrant County, as well as the UWTC corporate relations team,” Smith said. “I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together for the betterment of our neighbors and friends in the communities we serve.”
Shanna Snider

Snider joined UWTC in April 2024 as regional director, working closely with community leaders to provide a comprehensive approach to solving social issues in and throughout Tarrant County, with a particular focus on Northeast Tarrant and the Greater Arlington area.
As senior director of community investment, Snider supports the operational and strategic initiatives of the community investment division, including UWTC’s maternal health and 211 programs. She brings 14 years of experience in humanitarian aid and program development, having worked with Doctors Without Borders and other international organizations on initiatives across the U.S., Haiti, and central and eastern Africa.
“Serving our community through United Way of Tarrant County has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on this new role,” said Snider. “I look forward to leading with passion, purpose and an unwavering focus on positively changing the lives of my neighbors, friends and community.”
