UWTC announces CEO resignation

FORT WORTH, Texas (September 10, 2024) — United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) President and CEO Leah M. King, CFRE, has announced her resignation, effective October 23. She will be continuing her service to Tarrant County as president of the JPS Foundation.

“Under Leah’s leadership, United Way of Tarrant County has strengthened its commitment to addressing critical needs across our region, expanded its reach, and elevated our mission in ways that will leave a lasting impact,” said Steve Bobb, United Way of Tarrant County Board Chair. “Her dedication, vision and compassion have truly been a beacon for our organization and for all those we support.”

Prior to her appointment as president and CEO in November 2019, King served as executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of UWTC. A long-time volunteer and donor for the organization, she first joined UWTC in 2016. King is also an elected official and serves as president of the board of directors at the Tarrant Regional Water District.

UWTC will be naming an interim CEO as the organization launches a search to find a permanent replacement for this position.
