Celebrating the One Year Anniversary of the Texas Veterans Network
VETERAN IMPACT ORGANIZATIONS COLLABORATE TO CONNECT 10,000 TEXAS VETERANS CONNECTED TO RESOURCES – CELEBRATE THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE TEXAS VETERANS NETWORK
One year after launching the Texas Veterans Network, Combined Arms announces that they have connected 10,000 Texas veterans and their families to resources that ease life’s transitions. The Texas Veterans Network was launched in April of 2020 in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission to make Texas the first interconnected state for veterans and military families. The goal is to ensure that veterans and military families have access to a no wrong door support system in order to ease transitions between duty stations or after separation from military service and ensure the 1.6 Million veterans living in Texas have a great network of support.
The Texas Veterans Network (TVN) is an expansion of the Combined Arms model across the state using an innovative approach of technology and service delivery to disrupt the veteran transition. This collaborative model is built on the shoulders of over 140 best-in-class nonprofits, state and federal agencies that provide the support services to assist individuals and families with employment, housing, healthcare, education, benefits and social services. With regional directors in Houston, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Austin, El Paso, the panhandle, and rural communities, the entire state is being mapped for resources and connection.
“The vision of the Texas Veterans Network is to serve our communities by effectively deploying Combined Arms’ methodology and technology, to help achieve a higher level of accountability, efficiency, and collaboration so that no veteran falls through the cracks. We are very excited to see our vision come to life and prove to be successful.” said Mia Garcia, Executive Director, Texas Veterans Network.
Through the combination of customized assessments, vetted veteran-serving organizations, and the extensive combined professional experience brought together by the Texas Veterans Network—state-wide coverage is occurring for the first time. Historically, veteran services have existed in silos, without any effective communication between them to improve and perfect the processes. With the formalized and collaborative effort of the TVN, this model is paving the way for what is possible across the country.
The Texas Veterans Network is made possible financially via the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in partnership with The American Job Center Network. By continuing to invest in the expertise of the Texas Veterans Network, their impact on the transitioning veteran population and military families is efficient and immediate.
