FORT WORTH, Texas (September 16, 2024) – Regina R. Williams, LMSW, a community advocate and current Chief Impact Officer for United Way of Tarrant County, has been selected to serve as the organization’s interim CEO, effective October 23.

Williams’ appointment follows the announcement last week of the resignation of UWTC’s current president and CEO Leah M. King, CFRE, who will take on the role as president of the JPS Foundation in late October.

“Regina demonstrates unwavering commitment to UWTC and the community its employees support,” said Steve Bobb, UWTC board chair who leads the executive committee responsible for CEO selection for the organization. “The executive committee of the UWTC board feels fortunate that we have a deep bench of knowledge and experience on the UWTC leadership team to provide continuity of work during the transition and going forward.”

As EVP and Chief Impact Officer since 2023, Williams has led the strategic investment of UWTC’s financial and non-financial resources to improve outcomes for the individuals and families we serve. She brings vast experience in strategic planning, program development and management, with capable, effective leadership. She joined UWTC in 2018 as vice president of community investment and regional director of UWTC-Greater Arlington. Prior to coming to UWTC, Williams was a social worker and grant and community partnership manager at Fort Worth’s historic Dunbar High School.

UWTC’s executive committee of the Board of Directors is launching a formal search to fill the president and CEO position.
