David Johnson, Air Force veteran and the Mission United Program and Partner Manager at United Way of Tarrant County.

Meet David Johnson, an Air Force veteran and the Mission United Program and Partner Manager at United Way of Tarrant County.

In his role, David connects veterans with vital resources, bridging the gap between veterans and the assistance they need. His commitment ensures veterans across the region are supported as they navigate life after service.

One of David’s most meaningful experiences involved John Kirby, a Gulf War veteran who struggled to adjust to civilian life. After hearing David speak at a community event, John reached out for help navigating Veterans Treatment Court. With Mission United’s support, John found the guidance and resources he needed, ultimately becoming an advocate for fellow veterans. Witnessing John’s transformation was a powerful reminder of the program’s impact.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with family, performing live music and staying active outdoors. Known around the office for his singing voice, he had the honor of performing the national anthem at the Arlington Veterans Memorial during a Veterans Day celebration.

As we recognize National Veterans and Military Families Month, David’s work exemplifies Mission United’s mission—helping veterans overcome obstacles and rebuild their lives.
