Meet Pennie Clayton, VITA program manager.
With tax season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to highlight Pennie Clayton, Program Manager for our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA provides free tax preparation services to families and individuals making less than $60,000.
Pennie helps hardworking families keep more of their money. She works closely with the IRS, the City of Fort Worth, Foundation Communities and community partners to make the program successful. With Pennie at the helm, UWTC’s VITA program helps thousands of families every year, putting millions of dollars back in the economy over the last 13 years.
And, as a certified tax preparer herself, Pennie often steps in at the VITA sites to prepare income tax returns for residents.
Besides helping families in the community, Pennie spends her downtime with her family, watching comedies and documentaries and playing piano. She’s often heard cheering for Texas Wesleyan University, her alma mater.
