With tax season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to highlight Freddie Burns, program coordinator for our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA provides free tax prep for families and households with incomes of $64,000 or less.
Originally from Pine Bluff, AR, Freddie’s passion for helping those in need led him to UWTC. In his role, he oversees the VITA volunteers, who help more than 4,000 families each year. He can also be found out in the community, sharing the impact VITA has on our neighbors and encouraging more people to take advantage of our services.
Outside of the office, Freddie unwinds with gaming, reading and traveling. Here’s a little-known fact about our program coordinator: he’s an avid painter.
