It's not every day that a world-renowned rap legend comes to town to share his story and ignite hope for a brighter future for the next generation—especially on his birthday!
The One Second Collaborative (OSC) teamed up with Tracey "The D.O.C" Curry for One Second Counts, an exclusive event held Monday, June 10 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to spotlight the amazing work being done by passionate individuals and organizations to combat youth gun violence in our community.
We appreciate The D.O.C for choosing OSC and Tarrant County as platforms to spread messages of hope and healing. The event featured a private screening of “The DOC,” a documentary about his life that lifts up what can happen in one second.
Leah M. King, president & CEO of UWTC, led a vital discussion with The D.O.C., Bishop Rodney McIntosh of VIP Fort Worth and Fort Worth Police Chief Noakes on tackling youth gun violence through the power of community collaboration focused on creating safer neighborhoods.
Big thanks to everyone who joined us and made this event a success! Your support is invaluable as we work together towards a future where our youth thrive, and our communities are vibrant. Let's keep the momentum going!
What are you doing with your One Second?
This event was presented by UWTC, the One Second Collaborative, Interbank, and AIDS Outreach Center in partnership with The D.O.C.
