LEADING THE CHARGE, INSPIRING THE CHANGE

WOMEN UNITED

FEATURED MEMBERASHLEY CASEY

In 2017 the Women United Fund Committee approved the distribution of $40,256 to the following organizations:

  • TCC Foundation - $8,200 to provide continued support through the 2018-2019 academic year. This will allow four low-income single mothers to pursue their education goals.
  • Camp Fire - $19,056 to fund 25 CDA scholarships at $13,750 and apply $5,306 to fund a portion of the actual license fee for the recipients. The course and the license are the key to helping our recipients take that next step into increasing their earning potential.

  • Women’s Center - $8,000 for career development scholarships (dental hygienist, medial assistant, etc.). Training costs vary based on the career path the recipients choose but the average is about $2,500 per recipient.
  • Young Women’s Leadership Academy - $5,000 to fund a gap scholarship to alleviate the unmet financial needs to send young women to college. Last year the money was equally distributed to 5 young women to help pay for courses, books, and other school/living expenses.

WE’RE DIFFERENT.

WE ARE WOMEN UNITED.

As an integral part of United Way, Women United® fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our Tarrant County community. We are a diverse, vibrant community, bound together by a powerful sense of belonging — to each other, to the organization’s mission, and to the community we call home. We don’t stand by. We’re raising our voices, rolling up our sleeves, and leaving our fingerprints on a legacy of change that benefits everyone. And as part of United Way, we have unparalleled resources to make lasting local change.

WE GET THINGS DONE.

WE IGNITE CHANGE.

In each neighborhood we serve, we tackle the issues that matter most to the people who call it home. We empower each other to use our passions, our ideas, our expertise and resources to transform the very conditions in which people live. We ignite the power of women – who bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to get things done – to create lasting change in our community.

WE NEED YOU.
