United Way of Tarrant County has received the Award of Distinction for Community Service from the College of Public Affairs and Community Service at the University of North Texas. United Way of Tarrant County received the honor along with the United Ways of Denton County and Metropolitan Dallas.
“United Way of Tarrant County’s collaboration with the United Way organizations in Denton and Dallas along with UNT to develop the next generation of non-profit professionals is both innovative and impressive,” said Dean Thomas L. Evenson in a letter of congratulations. “The mentoring and professional development system produced through this collaborative initiative will provide the means for combining the student experience in the classroom with unique practical experiences through United Way internships, educational workshops and engagement with their boards.”
The award was presented April 4 during a ceremony on the University of North Texas campus.
