United Way of Tarrant County Launches TXServes-North Texas Program

United Way of Tarrant County, through its Mission United initiative, will launch TXServes-North Texas, a coordinated network of public, private and nonprofit organizations serving active duty military, veterans and their families in the North Texas region.

The launch event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram Street Arlington, Texas 76010. The event will include an overview of the new program, the services it provides and what it will mean for the thousands of veterans, active military and their families living in North Texas.

“The demand for veteran and military assistance is steadily rising in our community,” said TD Smyers, president and CEO of United Way of Tarrant County. “The ultimate goal of TXServes-North Texas is to connect them with resources and services specific to their needs. It is our intent that this program will empower and support the men and women who serve and have served our country.”

TXServes-North Texas uses a technology platform to guide those in need to the most appropriate services and resources available. Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard members as well as veterans and their families who reside in North Texas are eligible. The program supports all individuals who have worn the uniforms of our military – regardless of age, era, branch or discharge status.
