United Way Joins North Texas LEAD

United Way of Tarrant County has become a lead partner of North Texas LEAD (Leaders and Executives Advocating Diversity).

LEAD is a nonprofit whose mission is to attract and connect top talent to outstanding organizations that are driving diversity and inclusion. Its resume database includes job seekers with skillsets ranging from CEO level to individual contributors.

LEAD provides job seekers with the unique opportunity to network with executives, HR teams, and representatives from member organizations. LEAD’s members include employers in Fort Worth, Dallas and Irving.

TD Smyers, United Way of Tarrant County EVP and Chief Operating Officer, is shown here speaking at North Texas LEAD’s 15th anniversary celebration last August. In 2014, as CEO of the American Red Cross North Texas Region and former Commanding Officer of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, he also was the keynote speaker at LEAD’s Distinguished Lecture Series event on employability and veterans.

Former United Way of Tarrant County President and CEO Tim Carter, the current President of the North Texas Region of Southside Bank, is chair of the LEAD Board of Directors. Board meetings provide opportunities to share best practices on how to create inclusive corporate cultures. The North Texas LEAD Advisory Council of community leaders positions LEAD before community organizations for brand recognition and candidate recruitment.
