Self-Management Classes Offer Help for Healthy Year

If you have diabetes or other ongoing health condition, you can start 2015 by learning how to manage your health to feel better and do more of the things you want to do.

As part of United Way’s Live Well healthy aging and independent living initiative, free workshops are available that will equip you to use healthy lifestyle choices to better manage arthritis, heart disease, COPD, fibromyalgia, cancer, obesity, diabetes and other chronic conditions.

The workshops are also open to caregivers and consist of six weekly sessions of 2 to 2 1/2 hours apiece. They are held at senior centers and other community sites.
