The upcoming 84th Texas Legislature and highlights from the 2014 KIDS COUNT report were the focus of the recent United Way Pre-Legislative Forum co-sponsored by the Center for Nonprofit Management.
Adrianna Cuéllar-Rojas (below, top left), President and CEO of United Ways of Texas in Austin, briefed the forum audience on the climate of the coming legislative session.
Jennifer Lee (below, top right), Research Associate at the Center for Public Policy Priorities in Austin, reviewed the latest Tarrant County and Texas information from KIDS COUNT, a project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation that tracks the well-being of children in America. CPPP is one of more than 50 state-level organizations in the KIDS COUNT network.
Bowie Hogg (below, bottom left), a United Way Board member and Chair of the United Way-Arlington Steering Committee, honored outgoing State Representative Diane Patrick (below, bottom right) for her service. Pat Cheong, United Way of Tarrant County Assistant Vice President for Advocacy, Research and Education, presented highlights of United Way of Tarrant County’s draft legislative agenda.
