You’ve made it. Now help them make it. Today (June 25) is the last day to donate onlineto provide school supplies for boys and girls bound for high school and college. United Way is partnering with Girls Incorporated of Tarrant County and Fort Worth ISD for this important Day of Action project.
This week local companies are being asked to collect basic high school and college supplies such as notebooks, highlighters and flash drives. Donations of money will be used to buy additional supplies. Last year more than $10,300 worth of school supplies were either donated or purchased with cash contributions.
Items donated this year will be given to Girls Inc. members beginning college this fall and to Fort Worth ISD students from United Way’s Middle School Tools program who will be attending IROC! (I’m Ready for the Opportunity of College) summer camp in July prior to high school.
Even with a part-time job or scholarship, affording the expenses that come with high school and college is a challenge for many young people. Some come from families who have never had a family member attend college before. Just $10 can provide the supplies that will help a girl or boy stay in school and achieve their dreams. Take action today!
