May 10th is the National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive held in partnership with United Way, the AFL-CIO, U.S. Postal Service, Campbell’s and others.
You can participate by leaving non-perishable foods such as canned meat, tuna, soups, vegetables, pasta, rice, cereal and peanut butter in a bag by your mailbox on Saturday. A letter carrier will pick up your donation and make sure it is used to help local people in need.
Last year’s local drive collected more than 155,000 pounds of food; a big increase over the 85,000 pounds donated in 2012. Let’s all join in to top last year’s total!
