An impressive line-up of experts will offer perspectives on the local, state and national economy and the related implications for nonprofits at the 2014 United Way Economic Summit on February 13.
The free event will be held in the Action A Room on the fourth floor of the Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus at 300 Trinity Campus Circle in Fort Worth. It will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with check-in starting at 8:30. The forum is co-sponsored by the Community Foundation of North Texas, and Foundation President and CEO Nancy Jones will moderate the event.
Speakers include Dr. Bernard “Bud” Weinstein, Associate Director of the Maguire Energy Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Business Economics in the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He will give his perspective on the national and Texas economy.
Ann Beeson, Executive Director of the Center for Public Policy Priorities in Austin, will focus on the economy’s impact on Texas families. Emily Ryder, Community Development Analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will offer insights on the trends social service providers are seeing among their clients.
