Golfers from all over the country came to participate in the BNSF Railway Golf Tournament benefitting United Way Sept. 26, and the event scored beyond expectations.
More than 400 golfers—some from as far away as Portland—took part in the annual tournament at the Trophy Club Country Club. All of the proceeds from the event will support the work of United Way of Tarrant County. Proceeds were projected to hit $110,000, but actually reached closer to $140,000. This is a significant feat considering that the tournament raised $7,000 the first year.
“This wonderful annual event demonstrates BNSF’s tremendous corporate culture of giving and commitment to the Tarrant County community,” said United Way Senior Corporate Relations Manager Tyler Emler. “Thanks to the effort of BNSF staff and volunteers, the nearly $140,000 that was donated through this event will be used strategically to address major community needs in the areas of education, financial stability, and health.”
