Bedford Native and NBA Forward-Center Myles Turner to Hold Local Basketball Clinic Benefitting United Way

Myles Turner and Kids-IMG_0621edit-392x304Bedford native and NBA Forward-Center Myles Turner is back home this summer and holding a “Back 2 School Basketball Clinic” August 11-12 benefitting United Way of Tarrant County.

The clinic for boys and girls ages 6-17 will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the court of Myles’ home turf, Trinity High School, 500 N. Industrial Blvd. in Euless. The cost is $100 per child and includes T-shirt and lunch for both days. Part of the clinic proceeds will go to United Way to benefit the HEB community. Myles finished a very successful rookie year as an Indiana Pacer. He was chosen 11th in the draft and wound up helping his team get to the playoffs. At the end of the season he was awarded All-Rookie 2nd Team. Other accomplishments from his 2015-2016 rookie season:
• 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks
• February 2016 Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month
• Youngest player ever to record 5 blocks in a playoff game
