Matt Wilka and Marcie Parkhurst of FSG presented an overview of collective impact and how to start a collective impact effort to local practitioners and advocates April 24 at the Amon Carter Center at Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth. The event was sponsored by United Way and its Area Agency on Aging, the Rainwater Charitable Foundation and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
Collective impact is a way that organizations in a community can work together to achieve greater results together than they could achieve individually. Through collective impact, organizations agree on a common agenda and a shared measurement system. Each organization determines the ideal contribution it can make to achieve the common goal.
FSG is a consulting firm that helps foundations, businesses, nonprofits and governments around the world create large-scale, lasting social change.
