Wondering how your investment in United Way of Tarrant County is making a difference? Our new annual report highlights many of the ways your caring transformed lives through the services you made possible in 2014-2015.
The 32-page annual report includes colorful infographics that show recent achievements in the areas of education, income and health. Also featured are examples of the progress that has been made during the first five years of United Way’s 10-year LEARN WELL, EARN WELL and LIVE WELL initiatives. Stories of people who have been helped and features on programs such as VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), Reading Oasis and Diabetes Salud! will make you feel proud to be a United Way investor!
Among the accomplishments of 2014-2015:
- Fort Worth ISD students made over 30,000 visits to United Way GO Centers to learn about career options and college admission.
- Almost $12 million in tax refunds came back to Tarrant County families through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) centers.
- 73% of Diabetes Salud! participants improved their blood sugar levels by at least 10%.
- United Way’s 2-1-1 information and referral service received more than 250,000 calls seeking help.
