“Blueprint for Board Service” is a United Way training program that equips diverse local residents to serve on local nonprofit boards and committees. Over four evenings, participants prepare to become part of the process that decides how important health and human service issues are addressed in Tarrant County. United Way helps those who complete the program to find nonprofit board or committee volunteer positions that match their interests.
"We look for a mixture of people in terms of age, ethnicity, where they live in the county and other factors,” said Debbie McGee, United Way Vice President of Major Gifts and Volunteer Engagement. “Good nonprofits become even better when their volunteer leadership includes perspectives from a broad spectrum of the community.”
