Fort Worth ISD Raises $300,000+ and
Honors Winning Campaign Schools

Fort Worth ISD has announced that it has met its 2011 United Way campaign goal, collecting more than $300,000 ($300,002.86, to be exact) from FWISD students, staff and retirees. The students alone raised more than $56,000 of the total.

The district has honored four schools for their outstanding contributions to its United Way campaign. United Way Resource Development Director Cory Henderson presented the donated awards to the schools’ principals and their United Way campaign coordinating staffs.

Highest Per Capita Giving by FWISD Elementary School Students
The school’s reward is a helicopter landing at a pep rally donated by CareFlite, a horse patrol and robot squad car visit donated by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, and ice cream treats contributed by Blue Bell Creameries.

Highest Combined Staff/Student Per Capita Giving (5th consecutive year)
For having the highest per capita giving among FWISD secondary school students, this award-winning school receives lunchtime yogurt treats donated by Dannon, plus DJ entertainment donated by “The Party Machine.” In honor of the school’s top district ranking in combined staff/student per capita giving, a tree given by the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Dept. will be planted on the school campus.
