Older Americans Month Reception 2010
Years of outstanding volunteer service were honored by United Way’s Area Agency on Aging May 11 at a reception celebrating Older Americans Month.
Gary and Idell Bowker of Keller jointly received the 2010 Outstanding Older American Award, which annually honors Tarrant County residents age 60 or older who continue to lead productive lives that benefit the community. Mr. and Mrs. Bowker have been involved with GRACE (Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange) since the organization was established.
Evelyn Siegel received the 2010 Outstanding Advocate for Older Americans Award. The award is given annually to an individual of any age who exemplifies dedication to improving the quality of life for older adults in Tarrant County. She was instrumental in establishing Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County in 1967 and has continued to support Senior Citizen Services over the years.
